Aromatherapy & Massage Using The Scents Of Your Choice

Aromatherapy Massage refers to Therapeutic Massage that is enhanced either by the addition of volative plant oils to the massage oil, or by the use of an essential oil diffuser to scent the room.

The essential oils used by Mountainside On Site Massage Therapy for our Mobile Aromatherapy Massage are always all-natural and additive-free, and often Certified Organic. Essential oils are expressed front plant material, and often carry a strong scent. These essential oils are a concentration of the plant's constituents using either steam distillation, cold expression, or fixed oil or alcohol extraction. While some feel that essential oils and aromatherapy have a deep potential to affect healing and health, even if you don't agree, you'd probably find a massage session to be more pleasant with the scent of your choice diffused into the air.

Many clients choose Orange or Tangerine, and so those Essential Oils must be replenished more frequently than all the others. Sandalwood is also another all-time favorite. We bring a menu of our current offerings, which is usually quite an extensive list. You get to choose, and blending oils is fine. You can have us add one sort of Essential Oil to the Massage Lotion, and another to the air, if you so wish.

And of course, there is never any additional fee for the use of Aromatherapy Oils when used during a Therapeutic Massage session, unlike many other massage day spas and mobile companies. We feel that the Aromatherapy Oils are an intrinsic part of the experience, and so clients are not required to pay any additional fees, even when choosing costly oils, such as authentic Mysore Sandalwood from India. Aromatherapy Massage with real oils is key. Synthetic fragrances is not at all the same, and may even be hazardous for use on the skin. Most of our clients have never smelled such strong, yet pleasant concentrated scents. In fact, most of the products that we use in our homes and offices are scented with synthetic chemicals.

Evoking A Calm and Serene Experience With Aromatherapy

Our menu of the finest all-natural choice aromatherapy oils from around the world makes choosing an oil or blend for your Mobile Aromatherapy Massage session a difficult task! Once the diffuser scents the room, adding another layer of vivid sense experience to your session, you will understand why so many people love Aromatherapy Massage simply for the experience. Different scents have the ability to evoke different feelings and moods: some are more uplifting, while others are usually regarded as calming.

Scent is subjective, but we have a wide enough selection of essential oils that there's a good chance you'll find a scent just for you. Consider all the scents that you have found enjoyable. There's a possibility we have that very scent on our menu! And we certainly encourage you to take a sample whiff before your choice.

You can event select two scents, or three, to make a custom blend! Why stop there? Blend ten if that's what you want!

If you are usually the type of person to react adversely to perfumes, colognes, and air fresheners, keep in mind that these oils are 100% additive-free, and there are no caustic or irritating synthetic chemicals released to choke, sting the eyes, or burn the throat. Even so, some people have sensitive skin prone to irritation. For those individuals, we suggest placing a small amount of oil on an inconspicious area and waiting. If there's no apparent reaction, then use of the Essential Oil in an Aromatherapy Massage should be fine.

Please note that we do NOT use aromatherapy oils on clients, unless a client requests such. Usually, we use 100% pure Massage Oil or Organic Lotion without any added scent. Even so, we DO choose to use Aromatherapy Oils at every session and event. And if you let us choose the scent, you're probably going to end up inhaling the wondrous sweet scent of oranges and pine combined! : )

Aromatherapy Massage and Mental States

Undeniably, Essential Oils are a concentrated form of plant phytochemicals. And so most essential oils have a sctrong scent, which exerts a effect on the emotions. THis is not at all surprising, as olfactory receptors are associated with the limbic system. In fact, certain scents are traditionally used to ease different mental conditions, from fatigue to anxiety.

Aromatherapy Oils applied externally could affect change to the body that go beyond the mind and emotions. Since these plant oil concentrates are loaded with naturally-occurring plant chemicals, it is not unreasonable that these oils can affect change or modulate body processes.

Aromatherapy Massage and Health Studies: Results Are Encouraging

Studies show that the effectiveness of aromatherapy is more than imaginary. Of course, this is not the focus of most research at universities and private companies, however, a growing body of academic and privately funded research suggests that this will one day (soon) become a field where research efforts explode exponentially. There is just so much we do not yet know, and preliminary results suggest that plant essential oils are a potent means of helping people maintain health, in many different ways.
